Christina DiArcangelo As Cover Story CEO of The Year – August 2024 Edition

A brief summary of yourself, background, interests and business?

I have a diverse background in biotechnology, clinical research, and patient advocacy, driven by a passion for improving healthcare outcomes. I grew up blue-collar and learned so much about my working, ethics, politics, corporate bankruptcy that it led me to my first job working out of college as a bankruptcy paralegal. I am so thankful for the blue-collar upbringing that I had due to my father’s input.

My interests lie in innovative therapies, patient-centric care, and ethical leadership.

Significant life experiences include founding Affinity Bio Partners and Affinity Patient Advocacy, Spectral Analytics Precision Tele-Monitoring, where I champion the needs of patients and drive advancements in clinical trials, patient advocacy and artificial technology.

Launching my personal brand, Christina DiArcangelo during a time in my life that was filled with sadness, health issues and trauma enabled me to be a voice for empowerment and then launch Season 1 of my Podcast, I am Christina DiArcangelo and Season 2 Humanitarian Horizons, Christina DiArcangelo Unveiled.

My recent journey includes the publication of “Rescuing Mom,” a book that explores elder abuse and the pursuit of justice, deeply influenced by my own family’s experiences.

These experiences have shaped my commitment to making a meaningful impact in the healthcare field.

What have been the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your life and how did you overcome it?

Major challenge in my life was confronting and addressing the elder abuse my mother endured. It was a deeply painful and personal ordeal, but it fueled my determination to seek justice and advocate for change.

I handled it by tirelessly working to bring awareness to the issue, supporting my mother through her struggles, and ultimately sharing our story through my book, “Rescuing Mom.”

This journey reinforced my commitment to patient advocacy and strengthened my resolve to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.

It was one of the most difficult times of my life and then my Mom ended up passing away 1 year and 4 days after my youngest brother, Albert J. DiArcangelo, Jr. on January 13, 2023.

I am still grieving for my family as I am the only one living out of my immediate family and I miss them all dearly every day of my life.

I have tried so hard to turn my grief into passion, my losses into helping others.

Proud Moment: Share a personal or professional achievement you are proud of.

One personal and professional achievement I am particularly proud of is the publication and launch of my book, “Rescuing Mom.” This book not only sheds light on the critical issues of elder abuse and mental health but also represents a deeply personal journey.

Through it, I have been able to share my mother’s story, advocate for change, and inspire others to take action in their own lives. The positive reception and the impact it has had on readers have been incredibly rewarding and affirming of my commitment to advocacy and justice.

What motivates and inspires you on a daily basis?

What keeps me motivated and inspired each day is the profound impact my work has on people’s lives. Knowing that I can make a difference through patient advocacy, innovative clinical research, and promoting ethical practices in healthcare fuels my passion. The stories of resilience and hope from the patients and families I work with continually inspire me.

Additionally, my personal journey, including my fight for justice for my mother, drives me to ensure that others receive the support and care they deserve.

This unwavering commitment to making a positive change keeps me going every day.

I know that my son is always watching, and I need to ensure that I provide the best possible leadership so that he learns from my mistakes and accomplishments.

Community Contribution: How Do You Actively Give Back to Your Community or Support Others?

My patient advocacy firm, Affinity Patient Advocacy is a non-profit organization that helps advocate for patients at no cost.

I had started the company due to my father’s diagnosis of cancer and seeing firsthand that advocates are needed to assist patients in some of their most difficult times in their lives.

We have helped so many patients since 2015 including all my immediate family.

Message to Readers: What Message or Advice Would You Like to Share with Our Readers?

You have to keep rising like a Phoenix. My advice to readers is to embrace resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges. Life can present unexpected obstacles, but it is through these experiences that we grow stronger. Advocate for yourself and others, especially in healthcare, or in the justice system, or at work, where your voice can make a significant difference.
